Soil Trenching / Hydro Trenching

Hydro trenching, also known as Soil Trenching, represents a secure, damage-free, and accurately approach to excavation and trench formation. Click Hydrovac Excavation uses a technique that employs pressurized water jets to penetrate earth materials, combined with a robust suction mechanism that extracts the resulting mud mixture. The method proves particularly valuable for—though its applications extend beyond—revealing buried utility lines, forming compact excavation channels, and operating within densely developed or delicate metropolitan zones while maintaining extremely low probability of harming existing structures.

Method: High-pressure water jets loosen earth materials (including compacted clay and frost-hardened soil) as a robust suction system simultaneously transfers the liquefied debris into an onboard storage container.

Accuracy and Protection: This technique substantially decreases the risk of damaging existing underground infrastructure (electrical conduits, natural gas lines, water mains) when compared to conventional excavation equipment, providing enhanced protection against accidental utility line breaches.

Narrow Trench Excavation: A specialized use case that creates slim, accurately positioned channels suitable for laying utility cables, conduit systems, or water management infrastructure.

Speed: This approach typically outpaces hand excavation significantly, capable of completing trench work within several hours instead of multiple days.

Multiple Applications: In addition to trench digging, this technology serves various purposes including utility exposure operations (daylighting), creating openings for utility poles, and extracting materials from restricted-access locations.

Benefits of Soil Trenching

Faster Site Rehabilitation: Since this method extracts only the dirt needed for excavation, minimal refilling material is required.

Eco-Conscious Approach: The process generates tidier, well-controlled job sites, making it ideal for city centers, neighborhoods, or ecologically delicate areas.

Cold-Weather Capability: Hydrovac equipment frequently maintains functionality even in frigid, icy environments.

Daylighting / Utility Mapping

Daylighting and exposing utilities is one of the most common applications for hydrovac trucks. Workers will dig to locate and uncover utilities so they can work on them. The hydrovac will efficiently remove soil and excess water from the excavation site.
